Mohammed Shami, one of the best pacers in the world, is sure that India can beat Australia on Day 5 and win the World Test Championship.

India has already lost three important wickets on its second-to-last day. At the moment, Virat Kohli (44) and Ajinkya Rahane (20) are playing in the middle. India needs a good start from the experienced duo on Day 5 if they want to win their first ICC prize since the Champions Prize in 2013.

Shami said that scoring 280 runs won’t be hard if India plays well all day. He also said that the hitters shouldn’t look at the score and should just focus on getting the job done in the middle. He thinks the chances of winning are better, but he told the hitters not to rush and to play normally.

“Every single person thinks that we will win the game tomorrow. We’ve always been fighting. We do well everywhere in the world. Not just here. So, we think we can win this match, and we always work together,” Shami said at the press conference.

“If you hit well, I don’t think 280 runs is a big score. So, I think you should bat like you would in a test match. You should try to play one ball at a time. You shouldn’t look at the long-term goal. So, I think the chances of doing well there are better. When you set small goals and aims, you are more likely to reach them. So, play normally,” the 32-year-old told him.

In the history of cricket, let alone Test cricket, no team has ever been able to score 444 runs. So, Kohli and Rahane have a hard job ahead of them and will have to do something similar to what Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara did two years ago at the Gabba. But the morning practice will be very important for both teams, and it may even decide who wins or loses.
