South Africa A secured the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka A by claiming victory in the first and third games. South Africa A’s objective in the third ODI was to chase down a target of 173 runs. Tristan Stubbs, 22 years old, scored the most runs for his team with 58 runs off of 93 deliveries while batting unblemished.

His strike aided South Africa. With 175 runs scored and five wickets lost, A wins the game and the series. As the game’s MVP, Tristan Stubbs stepped forward to comment on his performance.

According to the 22-year-old, the game’s format is closest to that of first-class cricket. In addition, he compared the 50-over format to the T20 format. He also stated that he relishes building the innings slowly.

“It’s closer to first-class cricket in that you have to bat time. I haven’t played much 50-over cricket, but in this format, you endure pressure and then apply pressure. Tristan Stubbs told ESPNcricinfo, “In T20 cricket, you must make a play on nearly every ball, but in 50-over cricket and first-class cricket, you can just bat time, which I’ve really enjoyed.”

It’s been interesting to spend time in the middle. Stubbs
In addition, Stubbs reflected on his participation in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Stubbs, who represented the five-time champion Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2023, saw negligible action. The 22-year-old batsman scored a total of 25 runs in only two contests.

“It [the IPL] was an incredible tournament to be a part of, whether or not you were participating. And Mumbai made it to the semi-finals, so I got to experience a semi-final with 100,000 people, which was fairly cool, but I hadn’t played in a few months, so it’s good to get some game time now. “It’s been fun to spend time in the middle of the pitch and bat again,” Stubbs said.
