“I need to work on my bowling again to play a bigger role,” says Ellyse Perry, who seems determined as the Ashes challenge gets closer.

Ellyse Perry

Ellyse Perry, an all-rounder for the Australian women’s team, has been a good player with the bat for a long time, but recently, she has been bowling better, which could help Australia keep the Ashes in the next series. The Women’s Ashes 2023 will be held in England. It will start on June 22 and end on July 18.

Ellyse Perry has been a part of the team since her first international match in 2007. However, she did not play when Australia won the gold at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) last year. But she found a new spark and came back to the game in the shortest version to help Australia win the Women’s T20 World Cup in February 2023.

Since Australia’s captain, Meg Lanning, won’t be playing in the upcoming five-game series against England, Perry’s spot in the top order has become even stronger. In her ten tests, which include a 200, she has an average of 75. With a perfect hundred in Australia’s intra-squad match in Brisbane this week, she is getting ready for the only Test at Trent Bridge, which starts on June 22.

Ellyse Perry said that after getting a chance as a bowler, her next task was to improve as a batter. She was talking about the challenge that the Ashes would bring. She also said that it was time for her to go back and work on some parts of her bowling so that she could play a bigger role again.

“I’ve really liked it. It’s kind of come around again. After getting my chance to bowl, the task was to improve as a batter. Now I have to work on my bowling skills again so they can play a bigger role,” Perry told AAP.

The 32-year-old went on to say that there was a time when she had to fight against things, so she has been working hard to get back to a place where she can make good progress. Perry also confirmed that she has no plans to give up her job.

“Over the past few days, my body has felt great. I went through a time where I had to fight against things, so I’ve been working hard to get back to that and am doing well. From that point of view, I feel very free. It’s been a lot of fun.

“As long as there are people like me around, I’d love to still be active. It is limiting to think that you can only play for ‘x’ years. But it’s possible that when I wake up tomorrow, it won’t be the same,” she said.
