The BCCI has compiled a list of 15 probable venues for the 2023 World Cup.

The 2023 ODI World Cup will be held in India in less than five months, and Indian cricket aficionados are eagerly awaiting the event. On the other hand, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has a tremendous responsibility to make the event a success.

After 2011, India will once again host the ODI World Cup, and this time, the BCCI will be anticipated to make the tournament bigger than it was 12 years ago. With the dispute between the board and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the participation of the Pakistan cricket team in the competition is also in question.

Despite these developments, the BCCI has selected 15 venues to host matches during the World Cup, which will be conducted from October 5 to November 19.

According to reports published by ESPNcricinfo, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated that the schedule for the 2023 edition of the prestigious ODI competition will be announced during the World Test Championship final between India and Australia, which will be played at the Oval in London.

The board has shortlisted Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Pune, Rajkot, Mumbai, and Trivandrum as potential hosting cities for the 48 matches that will take place over the course of the 46-day tournament.

With only a few months remaining until the World Cup, the BCCI is required to submit the event’s schedule to the International Cricket Council (ICC) as soon as possible.

Team India will be the favorite in the ODI competition.

Due to the fact that hosts have won the World Cup in each of the last three tournaments, the Indian cricket team will be expected to perform well and claim the prestigious trophy after a 12-year drought. The Men in Blue have a reputation for playing excellent cricket at home, but their recent three-match ODI series loss to Australia has raised some doubts about Rohit Sharma and his team’s ability; nonetheless, the same team has also defeated Sri Lanka and New Zealand with ease.
