I can be a very annoying commander because I constantly move the fielder around: MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni, the legendary captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), admitted that he could be ‘annoying’ as a captain when it came to adjusting the field setting during a game. Notably, the MS Dhoni-led CSK defeated the defending champions, the Gujarat Titans, by 15 runs to secure their spot in the IPL Final, which will be contested on Sunday, May 28.

It is no secret that the 41-year-old captain is a tactical genius on the field and prefers to reorganize the field layout in order to achieve perfection. After defeating the Titans convincingly in Qualifier 1, MS Dhoni stated that he evaluates the conditions at the venue and then adjusts the players on the field based on instinct.

“You observe the wicket and the conditions, and you adjust the field accordingly.” Because I constantly move the fielder one or two feet here and there, I can be a very irritating captain. The fielder must keep track of me.

During the post-match presentation, MS Dhoni told Harsha Bhogle, “Imagine you are fielding and every two or three balls, I am telling you, ‘Okay, two feet to your right, three feet to your left'”

“It can be irritating. I always say that I trust my intuition, that I can see the wicket, the line, and what is really occurring, and it usually pays off. He added, “The only request I make of the fielders is to keep an eye on me; if you drop a catch, there will be no consequences, but just keep an eye on me.”

Chennai Super Kings reach an unprecedented tenth IPL Final.

Notably, the yellow team’s victory over the defending champions essentially ensured that they will play in their 10th IPL Final on Sunday, May 28. MS Dhoni and company will be aiming for a record fifth title when they face the champions of Qualifier 2.

On Wednesday, May 24, the Lucknow Super Giants will face the five-time champion Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator. Gujarat will have another opportunity to reach the finals after their loss to CSK, as they will face the victor of the Eliminator.
