Everyone will be highly motivated for the upcoming two games. - Faf du Plessis following RCB's victory over RR to keep playoff hopes alive

After a comprehensive 112-run victory against Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis stated that his team will be aiming to win the remaining games.

Notably, Faf du Plessis and company posted a competitive total of 171 runs in the first innings, with the captain scoring his eighth half-century (55 off 44 balls) and Glenn Maxwell also scoring 54. However, during the chase, Bangalore extended their dominance by dismissing the Royals for a meager 59 runs, resulting in an enormous 112-run victory.

Wayne Parnell returned a three-wicket haul, while Karn Sharma and Michael Bracewell each took two wickets, as part of a valiant bowling unit that worked in tandem to deliver the strikes.

After defeating the Royals, captain Faf du Plessis stated that his team will be anxious to earn positive results in the final two group matches in order to qualify for the playoffs.

“It was excellent. Concerning the NRR, we required it. Hopefully, we can prepare for the final encounter against GT at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Today was a great day for the team, and I am confident that everyone will be highly motivated for the upcoming two matches. This (setting the intensity to a high level) is a requirement for us. It’s great to see everyone reveling with such fervor,” Faf said during the post-game presentation.

On Thursday, May 18, RCB will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on the road before returning to the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, May 21 to face Gujarat in their final league match. The Men in Red and Gold recorded the largest victory over the Royals in the annals of the Indian Premier League by finishing the game in 10.3 overs. Prior to the match, RCB’s Net Run Rate (NRR) stood at -0.345; it is now +0.166, a significant improvement from -0.345.

Shimron Hetmyer, a powerful hitter for the Royals, struck a 19-ball score of 35 that included four sixes and one four. Despite the rest of the batting unit collapsing like a deck of cards, RCB asserted their dominance and remain in contention for a playoff spot.
