Yuzvendra Chahal becomes the joint-highest wicket-taker in IPL history in 2023.

On Sunday, May 7, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the 52nd game of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) featured a scintillating match between the defending champion Rajasthan Royals and the Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers Hyderabad. In their first inning, Rajasthan scored 214 runs due to the heroics of Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad responded in the same manner.

The top order and Glenn Phillips’ late blitzkrieg helped propel Hyderabad to their fourth victory of the season. Yuzvendra Chahal, 32, was the leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan during the run chase, taking four wickets and allowing 29 runs in four overs. His superb spell tied him with former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo for the most wickets in IPL history.

Yuzvendra Chahal topped the list of highest wicket-takers in the IPL with 183 scalps in 142 games, earning him the number one position. In addition to Bravo, Ravichandran Ashwin, Piyush Chawla, and Amit Mishra are also ranked among the top five.

Yuzvendra Chahal is currently in fifth place in the race for the IPL purple cap with 17 wickets in 11 matches.

Chahal, who won the award for most wickets taken in 2022, would like to continue his sensational performances in the current season.

Sunrisers: Four wickets separated Hyderabad from the Rajasthan Royals in their victory.
Anmolpreet Singh and Abhishek Sharma scored 33 and 55 runs, respectively, as Hyderabad got off to a fantastic start in their pursuit of the mammoth 215-run target. In addition, Rahul Tripathi scored 47 runs in 29 deliveries.

Glenn Phillips hit Kuldip Yadav for three consecutive sixes in the first three deliveries of the 19th over, when his team needed 41 runs in the final two overs. In addition, when Sandeep Sharma won the game for Rajasthan with the final delivery, it was ruled a no-ball, and Hyderabad capitalized on the free strike to win by four wickets.
