Pakistan writes history by becoming the ICC's No. 1 ODI team for the first time.

Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 102 runs in the fourth one-day international (ODI) on Friday, May 5, at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi. The hosts have won four of the first five games and are currently 4-0 up in the series.

Pakistan ascended to the summit of the ODI team rankings after defeating New Zealand in the fourth ODI for the first time since the ICC formally accepted the rankings in January 2005. The Babar Azam-led squad was ranked fifth in the ODI rankings with a rating of 106 prior to the commencement of the five-match series. New Zealand was in second place before the series began in Rawalpindi in April.

Pakistan now has a rating of 113.483, surpassing both Australia and India. To maintain their position at the top of the table, the Men in Green must win the fifth and final ODI on Sunday, May 7 in Karachi. If they lose the final ODI, they will return to third place, while Australia and India will reclaim first and second place.
