“Dismissal that had the world talking” – IPL releases new footage of Rohit Sharma’s dismissal against Rajasthan Royals to set the record straight.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) shared a video of Rohit Sharma’s controversial dismissal against the Rajasthan Royals on their official social media account. In the momentous 1000th match of the Indian Premier League, in which Mumbai triumphed in a thrilling contest, the unusual dismissal made headlines.

Notably, Sanju Samson’s Royals scored 212 runs in the first inning, with Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring 124 runs off 62 deliveries for a magnificent century. In response, Rajasthan increased their dominance by claiming the wicket of captain Rohit Sharma in the second over of the chase.

However, the manner in which Rohit Sharma was dismissed drew the most attention, with many speculating that his counterpart and wicketkeeper, Sanju Samson, removed the bail. The IPL released a new video to put an end to the unfounded rumors that surrounded Samson’s suspicious act’ on social media, where eagle-eyed fans had sparked a social media outcry with their speculations.
The video reveals a side-angle view of the dismissal in which Sandeep Sharma’s knuckle ball just brushes off the bail, dislodging it, and the keeper’s gloves are clearly separated from the stumps. As a result, Rohit was dismissed with only three runs off five deliveries.

Suryakumar Yadav and Cameron Green, despite this, produced crucial knocks of 55 and 44 runs, respectively, to keep MI steady in the pursuit. Down the order, Tim David displayed steely resolve in the final over by smashing three consecutive sixes off Jason Holder to defeat the Royals by six wickets.

With four victories and four defeats in eight games, Mumbai is ranked seventh on the IPL Points Table. On the other hand, Rajasthan are enjoying a successful season with five victories in nine matches and are third in the standings.
