Tim David stated after his ruthless innings against Rajasthan Royals, "I've yearned for a finish like that, so it feels incredible."

The Mumbai Indians needed to score 17 runs in the final over in order to win their fourth match of the ongoing IPL 2023 season. Thus, the Rajasthan Royals had a significant advantage up until that point. However, Tim David’s three consecutive sixes in the first three deliveries of the 20th over altered the entire complexion of the game and resulted in a sensational victory at the legendary Wankhede Stadium.

Following this, Tim David and Tilak Varma were observed jumping for delight in the dugout, while captain Rohit Sharma was seen ecstatic in the dugout. Moreover, while discussing his incredible innings of 45* runs off 14 deliveries, the Australian international stated that he had always desired to conclude a game in such a manner. Consequently, he is thrilled to eventually do it.

In addition, the 27-year-old stated that MI batting instructor Kieron Pollard was instrumental in his training. In addition, he stated that the season has not been simple for him, but he is pleased to have beaten Rajasthan. Furthermore, he acknowledged that hitting big home runs is never simple and that a batter requires momentum to succeed.

“I’ve yearned for a finale like that, so it feels incredible. The team has been energized and the guys have been delivering impressive performances, while I have been patiently awaiting my opportunity. I’m glad that I accepted it.

It’s not simple to hit sixes, and it doesn’t feel like it’s been easy this year. When gaining momentum, one must simply continue forward. In training over the past two weeks, I have exerted significant effort. I appreciate the assistance from the support personnel. Clearly, Polly Kieron Pollard plays a significant role.

The Mumbai Indians quoted Tim David as saying, “I’m just trying to relax and enjoy myself.”

Mumbai Indians triumph in a nail-biter against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede in Mumbai.
Notably, Mumbai lost Rohit Sharma in the second over of the match while pursuing 213 runs, while Ishan Kishan scored only 28 runs off 23 deliveries. After that, Cameron Green (44 runs off 26 deliveries) and Suryakumar Yadav (55 runs off 29 deliveries) played superb cricket to rescue the five-time defending champions from a precarious situation. Eventually, with the assistance of Varma and Tim, Mumbai was able to win the game by six wickets and climb to seventh place in the IPL Points Table.

Yashasvi Jaiswal led RR to a mammoth total almost single-handedly with a memorable century knock that included several blazing smashes. His stupendous innings (124 runs off 62 deliveries) featured 16 fours and eight sixes, respectively. However, Tim David’s exploits at the plate eclipsed his valiant effort. David did not shy away from praising Jaiswal, stating that, as a Mumbaikar, he must have relished this knock on his home ground.
