KL Rahul, captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 3, 2023, in Chennai, stated that his side batted well. CSK defeated LSG by a score of 12 runs, unable to capitalize on the team’s first-game triumph over the Delhi Capitals.
KL Rahul remarked that his side batted exceptionally well but failed to capitalize on their early success. He also complimented the performances of Kyle Mayers and Ravi Bishnoi, adding that they had made significant contributions to the team.

Despite fierce blows from Kyle Mayers (53), Marcus Stoinis (21), Nicholas Pooran (32), and Ayush Badoni (23), LSG was defeated with a score of 205/7.
