Royal Challengers Bangalore’s senior batswoman from New Zealand, Sophie Devine, chipped out a brash knock. The franchise secured its second victory by defeating Gujarat Giants by eight wickets. Following her scorching innings, Sophie Devine was awestruck by the reception from the crowd and remarked that she will treasure the admiration.
Smriti Mandhana-led RCB urgently needed a victory against Gujarat, and Devine deservedly stepped up and dominated the whole contest. Devine received acclaim from every corner of the stadium when he scored 99 runs off of just 36 balls. The introduction suggested that the attachment will “remain” with her forever.
“Since I’m so accustomed to hearing chants for (Ellyse) Perry and Smriti Mandhana, I felt a little left out. To hear your name and experience this atmosphere will be with me forever,” Sophie Devine told Sports18.

On the ninth over from Tanuja Kanwar, the veteran batsman hit a tremendous 94-meter six into the second tier of the stadium. Sophie Devine recalled the maximum and expressed her happiness at having smacked the ball perfectly.
“I was really pleased with the one I got up there (into the second tier). Cricket can be very capricious. I’ve struggled for the past six to nine months, if I’m being absolutely honest. Having some independence on these wickets was beneficial,” she continued.
In addition, she reached fifty off 20 balls, which was the third-fastest fifty in the Women’s Premier League. She hammered nine fours and eight sixes during her innings and had a 125-run opening stand with the captain, Smriti Mandhana.
In 15.3 overs, Bangalore attained the challenging target of 189 runs thanks to Devine’s brilliant innings. On March 21, Smriti Mandhana and company play their final league match at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai against the league-leading Mumbai Indians.
