In a social media post, former Australian cricketer Damien Martyn discussed his recuperation from meningitis. Martyn spent over a week in an induced coma.
He thanked his loved ones and those who wished him well wishes for a quick recovery when he was in a coma. After surviving the event, Damien Martyn also thought back on the revelation he had about the value of time and life in general.

Finally, Damien Martyn expressed his appreciation to the medical staff who helped him recover.
For those who are unaware, the former Australian international became ill in late December and was sent to the hospital.
Regarding Damien Martyn international career, he represented Australia in 14 years, playing 67 Test matches, 208 ODIs, and four T20Is. In Tests and ODIs, he scored 36 and 42 fifty-plus scores, respectively, and averaged 46.37 and 40.80.
Martyn played a crucial role for the country in a number of bilateral series and international competitions. His undefeated 88-run knock in the 2003 World Cup final is what many remember him for. At the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, Australia won by 125 runs thanks in large part to Martyn and Ricky Ponting’s 234-run partnership. After his playing days, Martyn has also had brief turns as a commentator.
