After winning the WPL in 2024, RCB had a disappointing 2025 season and came into this one hoping to make a big recovery. During the massive auction, the team put together a strong team, and Lauren Bell was one of their most important acquisitions.
The excitement was high as the Women’s Premier League (WPL) season began on Friday, January 9 with the inaugural match between the reigning champion Mumbai Indians Women (MI W) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB W). England pacer Lauren Bell revealed some intriguing behind-the-scenes information from the RCB camp ahead of the highly anticipated match.
Fans were pleasantly pleased by Lauren Bell response when she was asked about the much-discussed “coffee club” within the RCB camp during a recent meeting.
We make our own coffee, yes. Georgia Voll backed herself to be a brewer when we went to a cafe today, and they graciously allowed her to make her own coffee. Bell stated, “Yes, we have a pretty good setup.”
In 2023 and 2024, the young English pacer made her WPL debut with the UP Warriorz. She returned to the competition this year, although with a new team—Royal Challengers Bengaluru—after choosing not to participate in the last one. Everyone was immediately captivated by her remark when she was asked about her experience with the new setup.
“There is no denying that things have changed. distinct team, and RCB is undoubtedly quite large. Since I landed, I’ve had a hectic few days attempting to meet everyone, find out their identities, and learn everything I can.
Lauren Bell remarked, “It’s been a lot of fun, and I’m just eager for the first game tonight.”
Bell’s addition has greatly improved Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s bowling assault. Bell provides a deadly edge that can cause problems for any opposition when lining up with top strike bowlers like Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, and Linsey Smith. RCB may credibly aim for a second WPL crown this season with such a strong and diverse bowling team at their disposal.
In her first game for RCB against the reigning champions, Bell made an immediate impression with a remarkable four-over spell of 1/14, including a maiden. She also took Amelia Kerr’s valuable wicket.
