Virat Kohli causes stir at Vadodara airport

Everywhere Virat Kohli goes, there is intense hype because he is still one of the biggest superstars in international cricket. The Indian batting legend’s arrival in Vadodara prior to the start of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand on January 11 was no exception. Since moving to London and making few appearances in India lately, supporters who were desperate to see their hero were ecstatic about Kohli’s arrival.

As Kohli stepped out of the airport, scenes of pure chaos broke out. He was greeted by hundreds of admirers who recorded the event on their phones and sang his name. Although security was swiftly strengthened, Kohli found it challenging to get to his car as the gathering grew. The 36-year-old briefly showed signs of frustration as he battled to navigate the sea of admirers, underscoring the difficulties that frequently come with his enormous fame.

This was not a singular occurrence. Two days prior, after his incredible efforts in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Virat Kohli had received a similar greeting at the Bengaluru airport. Fans approached him in spite of the strict security measures, asking for selfies and enquiring about his form and travel schedule. However, Kohli handled the matter with poise, encouraging the audience to maintain composure while granting selfie requests and extending a cordial greeting to supporters.

In terms of cricket, Virat Kohli is in scorching form going into the New Zealand series.

Following a brief period of poor performance, which included consecutive ducks against Australia, the former captain of India found his signature rhythm again. He produced consecutive hundreds against South Africa after hitting a pivotal half-century against Australia in the third and final ODI. With another fifty to round up the series, Virat Kohli earned the rightful title of Player of the Series.

With 302 runs during the South Africa series, the seasoned batsman demonstrated his return to his best form. Now that he has more self-assurance and momentum, Virat Kohli is getting ready for the Kiwi challenge in an attempt to maintain his stellar 50-over performance.
