Star pacer Kranti Goud spearheaded India’s successful 2025 Women’s World Cup campaign. After more than ten years of suspension, her father, Munna Singh, was reinstated in the Madhya Pradesh Police as a result of her pivotal involvement in India’s historic title victory. The ruling documents Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s pledge being fulfilled.
A Madhya Pradesh Police constable named Munna Singh was suspended in 2012 for allegedly being careless while on election duty. The family was financially burdened by the matter, which remained unresolved for 13 years. Kranti Goud, a native of Ghuwara village, rose to prominence as one of India’s most promising pace bowlers during this time.
During a felicitation event, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav publicly promised Kranti Goud that her father’s service would be restored when India won the World Cup at home.
After the Police Headquarters issued official orders, Madhya Pradesh Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang said that Munna Singh had been reinstated in accordance with the Chief Minister’s instructions. Munna Singh will not get salary arrears for the years between 2012 and January 2026 because the reinstatement is on a no-work, no-pay basis.
Kranti Goud learnt pace bowling as a child in a field close to her house; she was frequently only permitted to play when there weren’t enough guys. Coach Rajiv Bilthre was impressed by her quickness and athleticism, and he helped her hone her abilities and direct her growth into a true all-rounder.
In the 2023–24 season, Kranti Goud made her Madhya Pradesh senior debut and rose up the ranks swiftly. Last year, she made her white-ball debut for India, and her skill earned her a spot in the World Cup. With nine wickets in eight innings, she was India’s third-highest wicket-taker in the World Cup. She has taken 23 and two wickets in her 15 WODI and four WT20I appearances to date.
