Suzie Bates Ruled Out Till March

After suffering an injury last month while fielding in a Hallyburton Johnstone Shield match, seasoned New Zealand batter Suzie Bates will not play until March. The extent of the rip was eventually discovered by scans, and doctors advised a three-month recovery period.

According to the ICC website, Suzie Bates will have to watch Otago’s domestic home season from the sidelines due to this injury. He will also miss the White Ferns’ home series against Zimbabwe, which is set to start in late February. Suzie Bates is determined to get back to full fitness before New Zealand’s tour of South Africa, where the two teams will play a T20I and ODI series in March, but the setback hasn’t dampened her spirits.

“I was really looking forward to another season with the Sparks, especially the Super Smash, so I’m devastated to be missing it this summer.

For now, I’ll be focused on getting back on the pitch with the White Ferns in March’, Suzie Bates stated.

Suzie Bates recently played in the Women’s ODI World Cup on behalf of New Zealand. She was dismissed for 10 in the round-robin portion of New Zealand’s final match against England. With just 40 runs from five innings at an average of 8 and a strike rate of 61.53, the 38-year-old’s batting performance was disappointing.

With one victory and four losses in seven games, New Zealand came in sixth on the points standings. They were unable to advance to the knockout stages, when India ultimately triumphed and took home the coveted championship.

In her remarkable career, Suzie Bates has participated in 178 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and amassed 5,936 runs at a strike rate of 79.74 and an average of 38.79. She has scored 4,716 runs at an average of 29.11 and a strike rate of 108.58 in 177 Twenty20 Internationals. The Dunedin native has a strong record with the ball as well, taking 60 wickets in T20Is and 82 in ODIs.
