During his maiden season as a consultant in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) with the Dhaka Capitals, Shoaib Akhtar hopes to impart some tips to Bangladeshi fast bowlers. Additionally, this will be Shoaib Akhtar first time working as a support staff member in the T20 franchise circuit.
Shoaib Akhtar, who last participated in competitive play in 2011, stated in Dhaka on Monday, “I’ve never been part of the BPL before, but I’ve heard that it’s doing great.” “I finally had the chance to come here and take part in it. I want to inspire the players, teach them some tips for winning games, and improve their mentality by sharing what I’ve learnt, particularly regarding fast bowling.
The new generation of fast bowlers from Bangladesh, who have advanced through the ranks and shown unity in recent years, were praised highly by Shoaib Akhtar. He also praised Shaun Tait, the bowling coach for the national team, who was Akhtar’s rival when he was at his best.
“I want Taskin [Ahmed] to break my speed record,” Shoaib Akhtar declared.
“I suppose the pace battery you’re referring to looks nice. I sincerely hope they advance in the [T20] World Cup [in India and Sri Lanka early next year].
“When it comes to fast bowling, Shaun Tait is among your best coaches. After Shaun Tait, you don’t need me. To tell the truth, I believe you will continue to work with him. He’s a great man and one of the most honest people you’ll ever meet.
The quickest bowler in Bangladeshi history, Nahid Rana, received some advice from Shoaib Akhtar.
“The advice for Nahid Rana is to keep your training level up when it comes to the muscle mass,” Shoaib Akhtar stated. “The main goal of fast bowling is to relieve physical stress. Additionally, the body can only withstand stress if it has muscles. The lean muscles and high-repetition training are also important. And on the ninth sky, maintain the same tempo and attitude.
“I have observed that in Taskin thus far. Additionally, he looks excellent, concentrated, and sharp. Nahid Rana is the same. I believe that if he continues to have excellent training sessions and when it comes to training correctly, I will also give him guidance if I ever get the chance to visit him. I’ll share the tricks and training secrets with him. I believe he will succeed if he receives that. However, your outlook on life is what matters most, and that shows on the pitch.”
Bangladesh will only have played in the BPL going into the T20 World Cup, since they will not be participating in any more Twenty20 Internationals this year.
“I hope Bangladesh become a force in the coming World Cup,” Akhtar stated. “I want them to be among the most powerful forces. This national squad is among the most intriguing, and I sincerely hope they succeed or find a way to move up the ladder and win the World Cup.”
