The list of players with questionable bowling action still includes Deepak Hooda‘s name on it. Deepak Hooda is listed in the AL1 category at the auction, which is set for December 16, with a base price of INR 75 lakh.
Three days before the auction, on Saturday, December 13, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) notified the franchisees of Deepak Hooda bowling action status. In the previous auction, the 30-year-old all-rounder was also in the same group.
Before the 2025 edition, CSK purchased Deepak Hooda.
In the six innings he participated in, he bowled just one over. Since then, he has bowled six overs in domestic competitions, including five in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and one in the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy.
Deepak Hooda last bowled on December 8 in Ahmedabad during Rajasthan’s match against Jharkhand. If he is summoned for a questionable bowling motion, he may not be permitted to bowl in the IPL.
In addition to Deepak Hooda, Venkatesh Iyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Rachin Ravindra are some of the other players who will compete in the AL1 division. The AL1 category will be the second to be subjected to the hammer, according to Cricbuzz.
Regarding Hooda’s IPL career, he has so far represented five different teams. After beginning his career with the Rajasthan Royals in 2015, he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad for four consecutive seasons. Before joining the Lucknow Super Giants for three seasons, Hooda played for the Punjab Kings in 2020 and 2021.
The only other player who has been found to have a questionable bowling action is Abid Mushtaq of Jammu & Kashmir. The base pricing of the 29-year-old left-arm spinner is INR 30 lakh. Two players, Rishabh Chauhan of Madhya Pradesh and KL Shrijith of Karnataka, have been prohibited from bowling in the IPL since the very last season.
