Prior to The Hundred’s 2026 season, Dinesh Karthik has been named the London Spirit’s Men’s Team’s batting coach and mentor. Dinesh Karthik first position with a franchise based on this competition will be this one.
Dinesh Karthik, 40, participated in 257 IPL matches between 2008 and 2024 and made 180 international appearances for India in all three formats. He assumed the same position of mentor and batting coach with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru prior to the 2025 IPL season. The team had a good season and won the title for the first time in IPL history.
Dinesh Karthik was welcomed to the team by London Spirit’s director of cricket, Mo Bobat, who is also the director of cricket for the RCB. He expressed excitement about the team’s players and other support staff.
“We are delighted to have DK [Dinesh Karthik] join London Spirit.
He is a genuinely unique thinking in our game, and we will greatly benefit from his extensive knowledge of franchise and short-format cricket. In addition, he is a lot of fun to work with and infuses everything he does with contagious excitement and energy.
Dinesh Karthik was thrilled to embark on this new adventure and claimed that working at Lord’s during the English summer was a dream come true for him. “What an exciting time to be joining London Spirit!,” Karthik remarked. “I was incredibly excited to join after learning about the goals and aspirations of Mo, MCC, and the Tech Titans.
“Working at Lord’s during the English summer is a real dream come true. Lord’s is particularly special to me because it was there that I played my final Test match and made my debut for India. Next year, I’m excited to work with some outstanding cricket players and watch the team come together.”
