The final One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series between South Africa and India took place at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, when Tilak Varma and Matthew Breetzke engaged in a heated exchange.
When Tilak Varma noticed Breetzke backing up too much at the non-striker’s end, he stopped his bowling stride and spoke with him before returning to his bowling mark.
Tilak Varma was draughted into the XI in place of Washington Sundar for the series-deciding match.

Regarding the current game, India chose to field first after winning the toss. They had not won the toss in an ODI since the 2023 World Cup semifinal. Ryan Rickelton was removed for a second straight duck in the 50-over format after being hit early by Arshdeep Singh.
Temba Bavuma was the second wicket to go. The captain was only two runs away from reaching his tenth half-century in ODIs. After failing to take a wicket in the first two ODIs, Ravindra Jadeja eventually succeeded. After being destroyed by Quinton de Kock earlier in the match, Prasidh Krishna soon made amends by taking out Breetzke and Aiden Markram in the same over.
Against the Men in Blue, De Kock, who recently decided to come out of ODI retirement, scored his seventh century in ODIs. De Kock was following two Raipur and Ranchi single-digit scores. Over the deep square-leg fence, he achieved the three-figure mark with a beautiful maximum.
As of right now, the series is tied at one. The Proteas responded with an incredible run-chase, hunting down 359 in style to win by four wickets in Raipur after India won the series opener by 17 runs in Ranchi. Five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) are slated to take place between December 9 and December 19 after the ODI series.
