When he arrived at Virat Kohli, he knelt down and touched the cricket legend’s feet. On Sunday, November 30, during the first ODI at the JSCA International Sports Complex in Ranchi, Soubhik Murmu, a first-year undergraduate student at Kabikankan Mukundaram Mahavidyalay in Kesabpur, Arambagh, in Hooghly district, touched Kohli’s foot. Following the former captain of India smashing his 52nd ODI century, Soubhik broke through several security barriers and ran to his idol.
Following his detention, his father, Samar Murmu, has reached out to Biman Ghosh, the local BJP MLA and the party’s district president for Arambagh, to assist in obtaining his son’s release on bond.
On Sunday night, a Jharkhand police officer called me. My youngster broke through security and got to Virat Kohli, an officer told me. They claimed that it was illegal, which is why Soubhik was taken into custody. The father, who practices traditional medicine in Madhurpur hamlet, was quoted by The Telegraph as saying, “I am shocked and worried that he is arrested.”
He is a lively young man who adores Virat Kohli.
“I explained to the policeman that my son was a huge cricket enthusiast and a devoted follower of Virat Kohli. I think whatever he did was motivated by his unadulterated love for his ideal cricket player and was done without any malicious intent. But according to them, my son might have to do time in prison,” the father continued.
Mangali, Soubhik’s mother, claims that her son made the decision to grow his hair and made a vow not to cut it until he found Kohli. In addition, Soubhik has a younger sister who attends school. The child rode his bike to Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium last year to watch an Indian Premier League (IPL) match where Kohli was playing.
According to Samar, Soubhik expressed his desire to play professional cricket but informed his kid that he would not be able to afford the costs.
The Murmu family is shocked to learn of Soubhik’s incarceration, but they are doing everything in their power to get their son back.
“I’ve already dispatched someone from here to get in touch with the relevant authorities in Ranchi via our party workers. “We are making every effort to obtain his bail as soon as possible,” Biman Ghosh stated.
With 135 off 120 balls, Kohli had an outstanding knock in the first ODI. After Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to field first, his knock assisted India in posting a massive 349/8. The Men in Blue took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series as the Proteas were bowled out for 332 in the final over of their reply.
