Both defending and reigning champions On January 9, the Mumbai Indians will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the WPL 2026 season opener in Navi Mumbai.
From January 9 to February 5, the league’s fourth season will take place, with Navi Mumbai and Vadodara sharing hosting responsibilities. The first 11 games will be played at Navi Mumbai from January 9–17.
The league then relocates to Vadodara for the final 11 games, beginning with a match between RCB and Gujarat Giants. League play will end on February 1. The midday games on the season’s two doubleheader days, January 10 and 17, have been assigned to UP Warrioriz.
On February 3, the teams who place second and third will play in the Eliminator, and the top-seeded team will advance to the final in Vadodara on February 5.
At the inaugural mega auction earlier this week, the teams for each of the five teams were determined. The league has started earlier than usual in order to accommodate the men’s T20 World Cup, which India and Sri Lanka will jointly host starting in mid-February.
