On Wednesday, November 26, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, during the Abu Dhabi T10 2025 match between Deccan Gladiators and Ajman Titans, Andre Russell displayed a peek of his well-known power game. After being sent out to open the innings with Tom Kohler-Cadmore, the Caribbean legend used his physical muscle to make the boundary appear insignificant.
Deccan would have wanted their openers to get off to a fast start in order to reach their 110-run objective. Russell hit a boundary off the first ball he faced to begin his knock. Wasim Akram, a left-arm pacer, was the victim. In the next delivery, the UAE fast bowled exactly in the slot, and Russell casually hit him for a huge six.
The ball landed outside the stadium after going over the mid-wicket fence. His power hitting prowess was demonstrated by the height and distance the ball reached as well as his bat speed. Russell knew he had hit the ball perfectly from the middle of the bat, so he didn’t even check to see how far it travelled.
However, Russell was out of the game after being hit for a six-ball 13 by Akif Javed in the second over.

The other Ajman players went into a frenzy when the latter defeated Marcus Stoinis off the next delivery.
After Kohler-Cadmore and skipper Nicholas Pooran were removed, the remaining batters were unable to reach their full potential. With astounding figures of 3/5 in two overs, Javed was the best bowler. The Titans prevailed by 21 runs, and he was ultimately named Player of the Match.
Russell hasn’t performed well at bat in the Abu Dhabi T10 League so far. He was recently released by the Kolkata Knight Riders in advance of the IPL 2026 mini-auction. He has amassed 35 runs with a strike rate of 140 in four innings. On Friday, November 28, Deccan will take on Vista Riders in their last game of the tournament’s round-robin stage. Both teams have a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
