Mushfiqur Delivers in Milestone Match

On the first day, Stumps scored 292 runs while the Bangla Tigers, who had chosen to bat first, lost four wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim, who was stranded on 99 by the end of play, had to wait all night to play his historic 100th Test. At the conclusion of the day, Litton Das was three shy of reaching his 50th birthday. Andy McBrine took all four wickets.

At the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh won the second and final Test of the series, defeating Ireland 2-0. On the last day, the tourists put up a great fight, but it was not to be, as Bangladesh bowled them out to a remarkable 217-run victory, completing a whitewash.

The following day, Bangladesh was bowled out for 476. Litton finished as the top scorer, scoring 128 points out of 192. In 33.1 overs, McBrine recorded his best-ever figures of 6/109. After half of their batters returned to the shed, the Irish called it a day.

Ireland were bowled out for 265 in 88.3 overs, with wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker finishing undefeated at 75 off 171. A few players, including Jordan Neill and Stephen Doheny, were removed for 46 off 77 and 49 off 83, respectively. At 156/1 in 37 overs at the close of the third day, the hosts were in a dominant position.

Bangladesh scored 297/4 in 69 overs after four half-centuries, including one from Mushfiqur.

Ireland needed to win by a huge 509. They had lost six wickets by the conclusion of Day 4, and they were looking down the barrel. Bangladesh appeared to be on the verge of winning the match on the last day.

Despite being removed for a four-ball duck in Ireland’s opening innings, Curtis Campher held his ground during the run-chase. Campher and the lower level players put up a valiant fight even though the Andy Balbirnie-led team ultimately lost the game. In the second innings, Taijul Islam and Hasan Murad each took four wickets.
