He will be constantly watched during his recuperation period and will adhere to a staged rehabilitation regimen. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reported that he “sustained a blunt injury to his abdomen, resulting in a laceration of his spleen with internal bleeding” in reference to the injury.
After that, Shreyas Iyer was transferred to the intensive care unit for additional monitoring.
Since coming back to India, he has been continuously monitored by medical professionals. According to India Today, he had an ultrasound scan earlier this week. Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, a well-known sports medicine expert, examined the findings.
The 30-year-old has been given permission to resume his regular daily activities and begin performing basic isometric exercises. Shreyas Iyer is expected to miss the ODIs against South Africa and New Zealand at home since he will be out of action for at least two to three months, based on the current recovery window. After these series, his ability to play for the team will depend on how well he recovers.
