During Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) successful 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign, England all-rounder Liam Livingstone fell short of his expectations. He is apparently going to say goodbye to the Rajat Patidar-led team and be up for grabs at the IPL 2026 mini-auction, which is said to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
Fast bowlers Rasikh Dar and Blessing Muzarabani, as well as seasoned opening batsman Mayank Agarwal, are expected to join Livingstone on the list of players that the RCB will release, according to Cricbuzz.
In the 2025 IPL, Livingstone was one of RCB’s most costly players.
He was paid INR 8.75 to participate in the mega-auction. But he only managed to score 112 runs at a pitiful average of 16 from 10 games. He only took a few wickets with the ball at an average of 38.
Agarwal, meanwhile, joined RCB near the end of the campaign to replace Devdutt Padikkal, who was sidelined by a hamstring strain. In four games, the Karnataka captain amassed 95 runs at a strike rate of 148.44 and an average of 31.67. In the summit match against the Punjab Kings, he scored a vital 24 runs off of 18 balls.
In contrast, Muzarabani joined RCB to temporarily replace Lungi Ngidi. In order to strengthen the RCB bowling attack for the IPL 2025 playoffs, the Zimbabwean pacer was signed for INR 75 lakh. He may have been chosen from the last league match. He did not, however, receive his IPL debut.
At the mega-auction, RCB paid INR 6 crore for Rasikh Salam. Following an outstanding 2024 season with the Delhi Capitals, in which he claimed nine wickets in eight games, he was anticipated to play a significant part. But he was unable to obtain a game.
All teams are required to submit their lists of retained and released players before the retention deadline, which is set for Saturday, November 15 at 3 PM IST.
