Temba Bavuma, the captain of the South African Test team, believes Dhruv Jurel has the talent to significantly improve Indian cricket in the future. On November 14, the all-format series between South Africa and India is expected to begin.
Bavuma clarified his argument by relating his observation of Jurel batting during the most recent second unofficial Test match between South Africa A and India A.
The “exciting young international player” has a lot of potential to succeed, according to Bavuma.
During the second unofficial Test at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, Jurel was playing at an exceptionally high level for India A. In both innings, he scored hundreds (132* and 127*). The hosts lost the match by five wickets in spite of his outstanding performance.
“I played with the South African A team. At the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, we played a four-day series. I got to see Dhruv Jurel when I played in the second Test. He is, in my opinion, an excellent player and batter. technically sound and also bats with good intensity. If he keeps developing in that manner, I see him playing a significant part in the future of Indian cricket. According to Star Sports’ Follow The Blues, Bavuma stated, “I think he is an exciting young international player.”
Additionally, Bavuma discussed Shubman Gill’s talent. He praised Gill’s style of scoring runs during India’s five-match tour to England earlier this year. Gill will gradually develop into the role of delivering with the bat as captain, according to Bavuma.
For Indian cricket, these are thrilling times. I believe Shubman has a lot of work ahead of him, replacing someone like Rohit Sharma and his contributions to Indian cricket. He is an amazing player, though. First, take a look at how he began his career in England as a hitter. Going over there and scoring runs is never simple. He said, “I think that’s a big feather in his cap to be able to do that and with the responsibility of captain, and I am sure he will grow into it.”
The Eden Gardens will host the first Test of the India-South Africa series starting on November 14, while the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will host the second Test starting on November 22. After thoroughly defeating the West Indies in their most recent two-match Test series, Gill’s team will be looking to continue their home supremacy.
