After missing more than 100 days of action because of a fractured right toe, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is making his comeback to the international scene. Starting on Friday, November 14, he will play as India’s vice-captain in their forthcoming first Test match against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He spent the most of his time at the BCCI Centre of Excellence for rehabilitation, thus the road to recovery was not an easy one.
According to Rishabh Pant, a player’s comeback is never easy, particularly if they are recuperating from an injury.
He did, however, thank his loved ones and supporters and maintained his conviction that God had enabled him to get back up and try again.
Recovering after an injury is never simple. However, God has always shown kindness. I’ve always been blessed by him. I’m glad to be back this time as well. You see, one thing I always try to be is thankful for God’s kindness whenever I step onto the pitch. I always get up and give thanks to God, my parents, my family, and everyone who has helped me because of this. Rishabh Pant told bcci.tv, “And then I take on the pitch.”
Focussing on controllables is what I always do. One thing you cannot control is luck. I therefore try not to consider that. Because there are a lot of things that we don’t consider when anything occurs. In practical terms, however, if you can maintain mental clarity where many things are not influencing you and you are only concentrating on what is important. You’ll discover what makes you happy. Even when you’re hurt, you continue to do things that make you feel good.
The Haridwar native also stated that comfort is crucial, characterising it as a necessary component to continue working diligently and maintaining process discipline. Additionally, he thinks that the only way for cricket players to be happy in their roles as members of an international team is to give it their best.
simply existing within a zone where you feel at ease. It goes without saying that you will put in a lot of effort, maintain discipline, and be in a state of readiness to learn while still having fun and taking advantage of every opportunity. Whatever you’re doing, you should savour the present, give it your all, and find happiness and delight in it.
Rishabh Pant scored more than 400 runs in the four games he played in the five-match series during his generally successful visit to the United Kingdom. Despite a protracted absence from the international scene, he will now be eager to continue carrying the form. As the team’s deputy captain, the Kolkata Test will also be his first red-ball cricket match played at home.
