Harmanpreet inks 2025 World Cup trophy on her arm

At the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, three days after the Women in Blue won their first title by defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the finals, India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur posted a photo of the World Cup trophy tattooed on her left arm.

When people saw the tattoo, social media went crazy. Netizens have been paying close attention to the Instagram post. Harmanpreet’s choice to get a tattoo applied to her skin is a testament to the significance of this 50-over World Cup victory for her and Indian cricket in general, as it is the first time the women’s side has taken home an ICC championship.

“Inscribed on my skin and in my heart for eternity.” She wrote, “I have been waiting for you since the first day, and I will now see you every morning and be grateful.”

The post’s caption demonstrated the title triumph’s immense worth. Speaking candidly, Harmanpreet acknowledged that winning the Women’s World Cup had always been her goal and that she will always be proud of herself and the team for achieving the coveted achievement.

The middle-order hitter recently shared her thoughts on the significance of winning the award. She talked about how, ever since she started playing cricket as a kid, she has aspired to change women’s cricket. She also mentioned how Harmanpreet’s boyhood desire was to win the World Cup.

“When am I going to wear this blue jersey? I dreamed. I believe this is really important to me as a young girl who was unaware of women’s cricket but yet want to influence our nation someday. For me, it’s a really sentimental time. since it has been my dream since I was a young child. My goal has been to win the World Cup since I first began playing. “I don’t want to miss this opportunity if I get to lead my team,” the Moga native said in a video that the BCCI posted.

Harmanpreet played for India in the 2025 Women’s World Cup for the sixth time. In eight innings, she scored 260 runs at an average of 32.50 and a strike rate of 89.04. She had her maximum score of 89 in the semi-final match against Australia. In the end, Jemimah Rodrigues’ 167-run partnership proved to be the game-changing moment.
