Jaiswal Back in Action for Mumbai Ranji Clash

Yashasvi Jaiswal, India’s rising batting star, is expected to make his domestic cricket comeback when he agrees to play for Mumbai against Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy 2025–2026. The game, which will be his maiden outing of the current Ranji season, will be played at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium from November 1–4. As part of his preparation for India’s two-match Test series against South Africa next month, the southpaw made the decision to join his state team. On November 14, the first Test will start at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, and on November 22, the second Test will start in Guwahati.

The 22-year-old is hoping to return to a match routine in red-ball cricket before to the South Africa series after just returning from Australia, where he was a member of India’s ODI team but did not play. Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ordered all players under central contract to play in local tournaments while they weren’t on national duty. His availability will benefit Mumbai’s campaign after they missed their opening two games against Chhattisgarh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Jaiswal last played for India in the Test series against the West Indies, scoring 219 runs at an average of 73 in three innings.

He hit two hundreds and two half-centuries while smashing 411 runs in 10 innings during the England tour prior to that. In January 2025, Jaiswal made his final appearance for Mumbai against Jammu and Kashmir, scoring four and twenty-six runs in two innings. Additionally, he was spotted playing for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy playoffs earlier this year.

Jaiswal to support prizes and kits

Remarkably, Jaiswal had indicated interest in relocating from Mumbai to Goa in pursuit of greater chances prior to the season’s commencement. However, he made the decision to remain faithful to his home side following conversations with top members of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and a few Indian colleagues. H-

Meanwhile, the cricketer has also taken a step toward supporting grassroots cricket in Mumbai. He has announced to the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) that he will support the team’s uniform and Best Player honors for the Harris and Giles Shield tournament finals.
