Virat Kohli’s First Run Celebration Sparks Fan Reactions

Virat Kohli, the star Indian cricketer, was beaming with joy and lifted his fist in celebration after scoring the first run in the third One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday, October 25. In Perth and Adelaide, where the 50-over series began, Virat Kohli had left without posing any problems to the scorers.

After captain Shubman Gill clawed his way back in India’s pursuit of 237, Kohli made his much-awaited run on the first ball he faced. In order to cut a full-length ball from Josh Hazlewood toward mid-wicket, Virat Kohli advanced to it. At the SCG, the packed house responded thunderously to the brief single. By the way the crowd cheered, it appeared as though the star batter had reached a significant milestone.

Below is a humorous celebration of Virat Kohli.

Australia chose to field first after winning the toss, setting the Men in Blue a target of 237. Harshit Rana (4/39 in 8.4 overs) was the standout bowler for the team captained by Shubman Gill. Matt Renshaw hit two fours in his knock to record his first ODI half-century (56 off 58).

Virat Kohli celebrated for what reason?

The Men in Blue lost the first two matches by seven and two wickets, respectively, after Kohli scored an eight-ball duck and another one. The 36-year-old recorded ducks in consecutive ODI innings for the first time in his 17-year career when he was bowled out by Xavier Bartlett in the second match. For the New Delhi-born, therefore, getting a run in the series was a humorous moment.

Now that Kohli and Rohit Sharma have already retired from T20I and Test cricket, they can only play in the ODI format. They will next be seen in international cricket during the three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against South Africa in November and December. India will host a multi-format series featuring the Proteas.
