R Ashwin Posts Cryptic Tweet After India’s Adelaide Defeat

On Thursday, October 23, following India’s loss to Australia in the second One-Day International at the storied Adelaide Oval, R Ashwin posted a mysterious tweet. With an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, Mitchell Marsh and company made Saturday’s last game meaningless.

In August 2025, R Ashwin, a former off-spinner for India, released a unique take on Nike’s “Swoosh” logo. The Indian tricolor was used in place of the company’s trademark black in the logo. Additionally, he modified the tagline from “Just Do It” to “Just Leave It”

Despite R Ashwin lack of context in the description, some fans have connected the post to India’s defeat by Australia by two wickets in the second ODI.

As Virat Kohli recorded his second straight duck in the series on Thursday, some supporters also thought it was a disguised message for him. But R Ashwin isn’t a person who holds back or is scared to be direct. He also has a strong bond with Kohli, and he would speak to the former India captain personally if he had anything to say.

For the second time in the series, Mitchell Marsh chose to field first on Thursday after Shubman Gill lost the toss once more. Early in the match, Shubman and Virat Kohli were removed, but Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer’s half-centuries brought the team back to life.

Additionally, Axar Patel contributed with a rapid 44 off 41 balls. But Nitish Kumar Reddy, KL Rahul, and Washington Sundar were cheaply fired. The tourists were struggling at 226/8, but they managed to reach 265 thanks to the batting prowess of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana.

India continued to take wickets to stay in the game despite Matthew Short’s outstanding half-century at the top of the order. Nevertheless, Australia crossed the finish line in 46.2 overs with two wickets remaining thanks to Cooper Connolly’s unbeaten fifty, which held the innings together.
