Gautam Gambhir was unreserved in his criticism of those who have ridiculed Harshit Rana for being included in India’s selections for the forthcoming white-ball tour of Australia. In his YouTube channel, former BCCI chief selector Kris Srikkanth criticised the Indian team management following Rana’s selection for the tour in Australia. The Delhi pacer was described as the team’s “only one permanent member” by the former Indian opener.
At a press conference in Delhi on Tuesday, October 14, head coach Gautam Gambhir spoke to the media following India’s 2-0 series thumping of the West Indies. Without mentioning anyone specifically, the birthday boy defended Harshit from his critics.
Gautam Gambhir asked the trolls to go after him rather than the young sailor.
The fact that you are specifically targeting a 23-year-old is a little embarrassing because Harshit’s father is not a former chairman. It is unfair to attack a certain person. Trolling on social media is simply wrong, and you can only image the attitude. During the press conference after the game, Gautam Gambhir stated, “Anyone’s child will play cricket – Everyone has a moral responsibility to ensure India cricket does well.”
Don’t say anything to run your YouTube channel. If you want to, go after me. I can take care of it, but don’t bother that kid. The same goes for all the young celebrities,” he continued.
