Cricket great Harbhajan Singh believes that Virat Kohli is more fit than many of his contemporary Indian teammates. During the 2025 Champions Trophy in March, Virat Kohli made his final appearance for his country. After missing six months of action, he is expected to play in the ODI phase of their forthcoming series against Australia.
Harbhajan also acknowledged that he has been excited for Virat Kohli to play cricket again. Because of the quantity of output that Virat Kohli services to the team can produce, the experienced off-spinner, who was once Virat Kohli teammate, also stated that he wants Kohli to stay with the Men in Blue for as long as possible.
“Do not enquire about Virat’s fitness, please. He is an expert in the field of fitness. Everyone imitates his actions. There is no reason to be concerned about Virat Kohli’s fitness; he is likely more fit than many of his present teammates. In contemporary international cricket, he is undoubtedly the most fit player available. I’m now just anticipating Virat’s return to action. Speaking on JioStar’s “Amul Cricket Live,” Harbhajan said, “I’d love to see him continue playing the ODI format for a while longer because he still has so much to offer. Fans have missed watching him.”
remained fit for another four to five years of Test cricket: On Virat Kohli, Harbhajan
Similar to numerous other pundits, Harbhajan reaffirmed his belief that Virat Kohli could have played for longer and that he had more to c ontribute in Test matches. Even though Rohit received less attention, Harbhajan anticipated that the former Indian captain will also dominate in Australia.
He is the type of hitter who can dominate, so when he resigned from Test cricket, I honestly thought he still had four or five years left in him to accomplish just that. His favourite batting destination is Australia, where I have no doubt he will once again prove himself. He’s scored a tonne of runs in those circumstances previously, and I think he’ll do it again. I’m excited for both of these greats to score a lot of runs for India and help the team win games,” he continued. The same is true for Rohit.
To prepare for the series in Australia, India and Australia will play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty20 Internationals. The vice captain for the T20I leg will be Shubman Gill, who was been named the ODI captain. Sunday, October 19, is when the series-opening match will take place.
