Rinku Singh Faces ₹5 Cr Ransom Threat

The underworld has allegedly threatened Indian batsman Rinku Singh. According to an inquiry being conducted by the Mumbai Crime Branch, the infamous Dawood Ibrahim gang (D-company) gave the cricket player the warnings.

Three different ransom demands were reportedly submitted to Rinku Singh advertising team between February and April of this year. Members of the D-company have made demands totalling INR 5 crore.

The West Indies has seen the capture of a few suspects. On August 1, Mohammed Dilshad and Mohammed Naveed, the two defendants, were turned over to Indian authorities. When the suspect demanded a ransom of INR 10 crore from Zeeshan Siddiqui, the son of late former MLA Baba Siddiqui, they were first taken into custody. One of them reportedly acknowledged discussing the amount of money with Rinku Singh team, according to a TV9 investigation.

Rinku Singh, a native of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, has a very lowly upbringing.

Rinku Singh family faced numerous financial difficulties when he was growing up. Even though Rinku has done well in cricket, he has had to deal with several off-field difficulties. Following his marriage to MP Priya Saroj, he has also increased his security.

Rinku Singh recently joined the Indian team for the 2025 Asia Cup.

He was substituted by Hardik Pandya, who was injured, right before the final. The Men in Blue crossed the finish line thanks to a boundary hit by Rinku in the game’s last over.

Rinku previously played in the 2025 Indian Premier League with the Kolkata Knight Riders. At a strike rate of 153.73, he amassed 206 runs in 11 innings across 13 games. Rinku has been in the starting lineup for KKR for seven seasons. His inclusion in the T20I team for the forthcoming white-ball series against Australia was announced lately.
