With a new contract with the Sydney Sixers for the upcoming BBL 15 season, Australian sensation Mitchell Starc is set to return to the Big Bash League (BBL) after an 11-year hiatus. The competition, which takes place from December 14 to January 25, will be Mitchell Starc first time wearing the magenta since the 2014 season.
Mitchell Starc, like the previous two seasons, has been signed as a supplemental player. He may now play in the second half of the tournament, though, as he recently retired from T20Is. After the Ashes, which end on January 8, his participation will depend on his level of fitness. Each BBL side may add two players with limited availability who are contracted by Cricket Australia under the additional player rule without compromising their core squad size.
Mitchell Starc talked openly about how much he loves the Sixers.
“I’m eager to don the Sixers’ brand-new magenta uniform in BBL|15. I have maintained a close relationship with the team over the last ten years, and if all goes according to plan, I am eager to return to the pitch this summer. I have wonderful recollections of the Sixers’ victories in the BBL|01 and Champions League, and I hold them in high regard. In a statement, Mitchell Starc stated, “I want to help bring another trophy home to our ardent supporters.”

Mitchell Starc is an excellent representative of the club: The general manager of the Sydney Sixers
The Sixers team, which currently includes international players Sam Curran and Babar Azam, Steve Smith, Moises Henriques, and Sean Abbott, will gain a new member in the pacer. The left-arm fast bowler, who last played for the Sixers in 2014, took 20 wickets in 10 games.
He also played a key role in their successful campaign in the first BBL season, when the Sixers overcame the Perth Scorchers in the championship match, and he was the top wicket-taker in their Champions League victory in 2012. The addition of Starc was praised by Sydney Sixers general manager Rachael Haynes, who described it as a significant boost for the team.
“We expect that Mitch will be a key player in our run to the finals because of his unparalleled strike power with both the old and new ball. Haynes stated, “We look forward to that leadership playing a major role on and off the pitch in BBL|15. Even when he hasn’t played in recent years, Mitch has shown himself to be a great ambassador for the club.”
