At the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards 2025 in Mumbai, star Indian batsman Rohit Sharma was spotted looking his happiest. A mimicry artist had the audience in stitches by mimicking MS Dhoni, and Rohit’s response went viral.
Rohit, who was sitting next to his wife Ritika Sajdeh throughout the ceremony, couldn’t stop laughing when the artist imitated Dhoni’s voice and mannerisms. The captain, who has won two ICC trophies, was observed laughing aloud and even turning to face Ritika, who was currently shaking her head and giggling. The couple’s enjoyment of the performance was captured on camera and went viral. Even though a number of cricketing figures were copied that night, Dhoni’s impersonation caught the most attention.

Reaction to the ODI captaincy snub by Rohit Sharma
The batsman also gave a reflection on India’s incredible recovery following the heartbreak of the 2023 ODI World Cup during the ceremony. India’s consecutive ICC victories, including the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy, Rohit Sharma attributed to Rahul Dravid and the team’s mentality.
“Look, we all spent many years on that adventure, and I adore the team. I also loved playing with them. It isn’t about a year or two of labour. It was about starting a job after a long break. Despite our several close calls to win that trophy, we were unable to cross the finish line. Everyone agreed that we needed to change our approach at that point,” he stated.
This was noteworthy because it was Rohit Sharma first public appearance since losing his ODI leadership. With Shreyas Iyer serving as vice-captain, Shubman Gill was recently named India’s new ODI captain by the BCCI in front of the forthcoming Australia tour. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, nevertheless, are still in the team. The batting mainstay even appeared more toned and fit at the tournament, garnering significant praise for his preparation for the forthcoming Australian series.
“I love playing against Australia, love going there, people in Australia love cricket a lot,” Rohit Sharma stated.
