Jadeja’s four wickets in the second innings have also allowed him to overtake Mehidy Hasan of Bangladesh by a solid 125 points at the top of the all-rounders’ rankings.
With a remarkable performance in the opening game of their ICC World Test Championship series against the West Indies in Ahmedabad, India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja rose to a career-high 25th place in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings.
Jadeja, who finished India’s lone innings with 104 not out, had previously had the 29th-best ranking in July of this year. His rating points have now reached a career high of 644.
After India won by an innings and 140 runs, fast bowler Mohammed Siraj carried on his strong play from the England tour, moving up three spots to a career-best 12th place with figures of four for 40 and three for 31. He also crossed the 700-point threshold for the first time in his career.
Both Dhruv Jurel and K.L. Rahul, who have both advanced in the batting rankings after scoring hundreds, are other winners from the Indian squad. After his first Test century, Rahul has climbed four spots to 35th place, while Jurel has risen 20 spots to 65th.
Kuldeep Yadav, a left-arm wrist-spinner, took two inexpensive wickets in the game and moved up seven spots to 21st place.
No bowler claimed more than two wickets, and no batter reached a half-century, so there wasn’t much to cheer for the West Indies players.
Australia captain Mitchell Marsh scored 85 in the opening game of the series against New Zealand and 103 not out in the third, putting him back in the top 10 of the batting standings for the first time since February 2024 in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.
In the opening game of the series at Mount Maunganui, Tim Robinson of New Zealand advanced 58 spots to joint-22nd place with an undefeated 106.
In their series in the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan 3-0, and Saif Hassan made his maiden appearance in the top 20 batters with an undefeated 64 in the third game. Both Parvez Hossain and Tanzid Hasan have improved from 43rd to 37th and 71st to 53rd, respectively.
With two for 29 and four for 18 in the first two games, Afghanistan leg-spinning all-rounder Rashid Khan has climbed back to number two in the bowling rankings, his highest level since June of last year.
Noor Ahmad (up eight spots to 17th) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (up six spots to 23rd) of Afghanistan also advance in the bowling rankings, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib (up nine spots to 33rd), Shoriful Islam (up 21 spots to joint-49th), and Player of the Series Nasum Ahmed (up from 131st to 44th) of Bangladesh do the same.
