In the forthcoming series against Australia, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is expected to miss the 50-over leg. On October 19, the three-match ODI series is set to begin. He is expected to return for the five Twenty20 Internationals, though.
Hardik Pandya recently participated in the 2025 Asia Cup, playing in six of India’s seven games. Due to a left quadriceps injury, he was unable to play in India’s five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the summit match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 28. Since there was no suitable replacement, team management chose Rinku Singh to replace him.
Because of India’s dominance in the top order, Hardik Pandya did not have a fair opportunity to bat in the majority of the games. In their 41-run victory over Bangladesh in the Super Fours, Hardik Pandya scored a vital 29-ball 38. In addition to being tasked with bowling with the new ball, he took four wickets in six innings at an economy rate of 8.57.
It will be important to watch who takes Hardik Pandya position in the ODI squad as the team for the white-ball series against Australia has not yet been announced.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will also make their comebacks for India in the ODI series. The two last competed for their country in the 2025 Champions Trophy in the United Arab Emirates. As they strive to be healthy for the 2027 World Cup, there is a lot of expectation that the two will play.
The three-match ODIs will take place in Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth on October 19, 23, and 25, respectively. There will be a little break before the T20I series begins. On November 8, the series will come to an end.
