India captain Suryakumar Yadav decided not to attend the usual pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial Asia Cup 2025 final against Pakistan.
This decision has created a new round of controversy for the match between the bitter rivals, which is scheduled for Sunday, September 28 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
It’s unclear why Suryakumar Yadav chose not to speak to the media before the significant competition.
Salman Ali Agha, the captain of Pakistan, was there to speak to the media, though, and was questioned about the absence of his opposing counterpart. Concerning the tension and intensity surrounding the opponents for the summit meeting on Sunday, he was also questioned about the India captain’s choice to forego the traditional pre-final photo shoot.
“We’ll prevail. We try to give it our all when we play cricket. And we are aware that we can defeat any team if we play our best cricket and carry out our strategies for 40 overs. Whether he wants to come or not is entirely up to him. On the eve of the game, Agha told reporters, “There is nothing I can do about that.”
Salman said that anyone who said differently would be lying, acknowledging the strain on both teams for Sunday’s title-decider. Salman is still optimistic that his team can defeat India in the championship match, even though India has already defeated them in the group stage and the Super Four. Even though India has a significant advantage in the odds, the skipper of Pakistan is still hopeful about his team’s prospects.
“India and Pakistan are under a lot of pressure; it would be incorrect to claim that there is no pressure. However, we have lost games because we have made more mistakes than they have. Salman stated, “I believe the team with fewer errors will win the match between India and Pakistan.”
If India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is selected for the final playing XI, it will be worth waiting for the final. In India’s penultimate match against Sri Lanka on Friday, the seasoned player had a cramp while fielding, and fans will be anxiously awaiting word on his condition.
