Litton Das, the captain of Bangladesh, had a back strain during training at the ICC Academy Ground on September 22, giving the team a worry before their Super Four matchup with India.
After being evaluated by team physio Bayzid ul Islam, Litton Das exited the workout because he was experiencing pain on the left side of his waist while trying a square cut in the nets.
A BCB official told Cricbuzz on Tuesday, “We will have a look at him (Litton) today because from the outside he looks quite okay, but we need to conduct a medical assessment before making a final call.”
Even though Litton Das didn’t seem too uncomfortable following the incident, Bangladesh would suffer greatly if he were unavailable.
Since the BCB hasn’t announced a deputy for the competition, it’s also unclear who will captain the team in his absence. Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka handily to start their Super Four campaign.
