In Sunday, September 21’s Super-Four match between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sahibzada Farhan had an outstanding knock. But more than his innings, his contentious celebration upon reaching his half-century is being debated and analysed.
Sahibzada Farhan gestured at the dug-out while holding his bat like a gun and imitating a gunshot. Social media was enraged by this offensive gesture.
Sahibzada Farhan discussed the celebration during the press conference for the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, stating that it was something he currently did. But he didn’t appear to be sorry for what he had done. He claimed that instead, he concentrates on playing aggressive cricket against any opponent.
“I believe you will see that (a lot) in the future if you discuss the sixes. And at the time, the celebration was only a moment. After I reach 50, I don’t celebrate much. However, I had the startling idea that we should celebrate today. That’s what I did. I’m not sure how people will react to it. That doesn’t concern me. You should play aggressive cricket wherever you play, you know. It doesn’t have to be in India. As we did today, you need play aggressive cricket against every team,” Sahibzada Farhan advised.
Sahibzada Farhan smashed three sixes and five fours as he hammered 58 off 45 balls. Pakistan scored a respectable 171 runs in 20 overs thanks to his knock. To make it simpler for the batters to follow, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill established a 105-run partnership inside 10 overs in response.
With six wickets remaining, the Men in Blue chased the goal in 18.5 overs, with Abhishek leading the way for India. Tilak Varma and Shubman both made contributions with knocks of 30* (19) and 47 (28) respectively. In the ongoing Asia Cup, India defeated Pakistan for the second time.
