On September 21, during the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match in Dubai, Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson made a spectacular low catch to eliminate Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman. In this eagerly awaited match, India, captained by captain Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya had the opportunity in the second over when he delivered an off-cutter by running his fingers across the ball and holding it loosely by a length. The delivery was edged by Fakhar and sent low towards Sanju Samson. With his gloves kept close to the ground, the wicketkeeper displayed remarkable reactions.
But the third umpire was called in to review the catch. The third umpire declared the batter ejected following a thorough examination that included a large zoom on the replay. Zaman shook his head and walked back as the final verdict was clearly shown on the large screen. Mike Hesson, the head coach of Pakistan, expressed dissatisfaction with the result as well, raising the possibility that the umpire may not have been as diligent.
During his brief visit, the left-handed opener delighted the fans by hitting 15 runs off nine balls, including a boundary right before the dismissal. With two straight boundaries in the second over of the contest, Fakhar had already established himself and given the first innings of the match an aggressive start.

Hardik has an outstanding record versus the bitter rivals and is still a pain in Pakistan’s side. He has taken 15 wickets in eight Twenty20 International innings against Pakistan, more than any other bowler in the series between India and Pakistan.
India had caused an upset by defeating Pakistan by seven wickets in the tournament’s last group stage match. Suryakumar spearheaded the successful chase with an undefeated 47, and Kuldeep Yadav stole the show with a three-wicket haul, giving the Men in Blue vital points.
Anticipation is high because this is the second time the two countries have faced each other in the Super Four stage. In one of cricket’s most intense rivalries, supporters are excited to see which team can establish supremacy and emerge victorious.
