Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan May Withdraw After UAE Match Postponed

Pakistan wants to immediately withdraw from the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025. For additional talks to formalise their position, their September 17 match against the United Arab Emirates at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium has been postponed by one hour. To make a final verdict on the matter, Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the PCB and ACC, is speaking with previous PCB executives.

If withdrawn, Muhammad Waseem’s team will receive the match and the points associated with it, and the Pakistan vs. UAE match in Group A will be forfeited. They will also become the second team from the group to go to the Super Fours, after India did so fairly after winning the event back-to-back so far.

“Former PCB chairs Ramiz Raja and Najam Sethi are meeting and talking with PCB chair Mohsin Naqvi. They are talking about the problem and communicating with Dubai about it. According to ESPNcricinfo, PCB spokesperson Amir Mir stated that the game has been postponed for the time being by one hour.

Players from Pakistan depart for the venue.

Additionally, Naqvi stated that the players had departed for the stadium, and soon after,

“The Pakistani squad has been instructed to leave for the Dubai Cricket Stadium. “More information will be provided soon,” Naqvi posted on his official social media account 57 minutes prior to the game’s scheduled start time.

“Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan vs. UAE, Match 10.” The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. local time. The game will begin at 9 PM Indian Standard Time, and the toss will begin at 8.30 PM. The organisers have officially updated that the toss would begin at 7:00 PM.

The UAE chose to bowl first in front of match referee Andy Pycroft at the toss, which took place in accordance with the revised schedule. Haris Rauf and Khushdil Shah, who had missed the first two games, were added to the playing XI by PAK captain Agha, who also announced a few other changes to the team.
