Muzumdar emphasised how crucial it is for his staff to collaborate in order to complete their next tasks successfully.
India will try to leave their mark in the home ODI series against Australia, which begins on Sunday, September 14, following outstanding performances on the England tour. The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur will host the opening One-Day International of the three-match series.
September 30 marks the start of the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, which India and Sri Lanka will co-host. After gaining confidence from a stunning series victory in England in July, the Women in Blue are the clear favourites to win the main event.
Amol Muzumdar, the head coach of India, believes that Harmanpreet Kaur and company will benefit greatly from the series against Australia. He also highlighted how India checked all the criteria by defeating England through collaboration.
“This, in my opinion, is a true World Cup pioneer. Playing against one of the best teams in the world makes this series really significant to us, and we are excited for it. In a virtual press conference, Muzumdar stated, “We had a great tour to England, we got the positive results we wanted, and we are looking forward to the series.”
“We achieved the first-ever T20 result in England, winning the T20 series and defeating the opposition 2-1 in the ODIs. The forty days of the tour were amazing. It was a fantastic team effort, and we got along pretty well. Harman (Harmanpreet Kaur) received a hundred in Durham, while Smriti (Mandhana) received a hundred at Trent Bridge. The lesson from the series was that everyone made a contribution. Kranti Goud and Radhya Yadav both made significant contributions. “Everything was checked off,” Muzumdar continued.
We concentrate on our planning and how we will carry it out: Muzumdar
The former Mumbai cricket player said, “To be on the right side of the result, we have to make huge collective effort.”
Although Muzumdar praised Australia for their consistent dominance in the sport over the years, he stated that his main goal is to get his team ready and assist them in carrying out their strategies.
“Preparation is the same but yes Australia have been a dominant force for so many years but we focus on our preparation and how we gonna execute them,” Muzumdar stated.
The club has played a number of home series recently and knows how to handle the burden of expectations, Muzumdar remarked.
“These girls are now accustomed to the strain that comes with playing international cricket. We have performed in many home series over the past several years, so we are accustomed to the pressure from the crowd. We are looking forward to this series,” he continued. “As a team, we decide by the game and on the day, and the combination will rely on this.”
