On Friday, September 12, during the second legal delivery of the current Asia Cup 2025 Match No. 4 between Pakistan and Oman at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Saim Ayub was removed.
Saim Ayub has played 40 T20I innings so far, and this removal was his second first-baller.
The delivery was slanted in on a centre and leg stump by Shah Faisal. With great ambition, Saim Ayub stood up and attempted to play the pick-up shot while lying low. Nevertheless, he played all over it and missed the ball’s line entirely. Since the third umpire replay verified that the ball was colliding with the middle stump, not even a review could save him. Finally, sooner than he would have imagined, Saim Ayub had to return to the crease.

Together with wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris (66 off 43), who assumed the role of the aggressor, his opening partner Sahibzada Farhan (29 off 29) supported the second-wicket stand. Pakistan scored 160 runs for seven wickets at the end of their innings. To open their campaign with a victory, Oman will need to chase this down in the 20 overs they have been given.
