At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, September 10, India defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by a commanding nine wickets to begin their Asia Cup 2025 campaign.
As the bowlers destroyed the UAE batting lineup, captain Suryakumar Yadav‘s choice to bowl first proved to be the right one.
After being thoroughly destroyed by India’s bowling assault, the UAE were bowled out for just 57 runs. The tone was set early by star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who dismissed opener Alishan Sharafu with a fiery yorker. The Men in Blue never turned back after that.
The most impressive player was Kuldeep Yadav, a left-arm spinner who tore through the middle order with four wickets, including three in one over. Shivam Dube, an all-rounder, contributed as well with a remarkable three-wicket haul. Sharafu’s 22 runs were the UAE’s greatest individual total, but the squad as a whole found it difficult to handle the pressure.
India quickly reached 60/1 in just 4.3 overs, easily defeating a modest mark. While Shubman Gill was still undefeated at 20*, Abhishek Sharma hit a quick knock of 30 off 16 balls. In addition to earning India two points, the decisive victory earned them an unthinkable net run rate (NRR) of 10.48 to start the season.
Who Made What Remark?
Player of the Match: Kuldeep Yadav
(on his level of fitness) Many thanks to the trainer, Adrian. I was focussing on both my fitness and bowling, and both are going great. Reading the batters’ intentions is crucial while attempting to hit the proper length. responding to what the batters would do with the next ball, even now.
United Arab Emirates (Losing Captain) Muhammad Waseem
As a batting team, we got off to a strong start, but we lost a string of wickets that cost us the game. They are bowling excellently and are a fantastic squad. They are the top squad because they are carrying out their strategies for each batter. We’ll work together to learn from our mistakes and return stronger.
India’s Suryakumar Yadav (winning captain)
wanted to observe the wicket’s performance. The second inning was the same. The boys gave us clinical performance; we were looking for positive attitude and energy on the pitch, and we got it. Many of the lads were present for the Champions Trophy recently; although the wicket appeared to be decent, it was a little slow, and the spinners played a part. It’s so hot here right now, and Varun, Dube, and Kuldeep performed great. (on Abhishek) He is the best hitter in the world right now for a reason; he sets the tone whether we are chasing 200 or 50. It’s amazing what he can do. Everyone is anticipating the match versus Pakistan with excitement.
