RCB star on bond with Rajat Patidar

Jitesh Sharma, the star player for the RCB , recently talked about his connection with captain Rajat Patidar. Jitesh and Rajat both played important roles in RCB’s IPL 2025 championship team.

The batsman-wicketkeeper talked about Patidar and how much he enjoyed tea. He also talked about their peculiar practice of going to cafés before to game days and merely chatting about unrelated subjects.

Tea is one of our common pastimes. We both enjoy tea. Even though we don’t always know what we’re talking about, if we speak, people will say that two crazy individuals are talking about something. We occasionally gossip about others and engage in silly conversations; it’s enjoyable. Royal Challengers Bengaluru cited Jitesh as stating, “We have a routine where we go to some cafe and sit before a match, it’s like a ritual between games.”

Jitesh also discussed how the two, who play zonal cricket for the same zone (Central Zone), started talking about cricketer-turned-coach Chandrakant Pandit.

Following a scorching IPL 2025 for RCB, he was selected for the Men in Blue’s 15-man roster.

Playing for Central Zone and having the coach, Chandrakant Pandit, in common gives us a unique camaraderie. He spent three years in our [my] state. He has now visited their state. In a positive sense, he is a very strict coach. Every time he did something, it became a topic. We were in the same zone and played age-group cricket together, so I’ve known him for a long time,” he continued.

The 31-year-old made a remark on how they tackle everything pertaining to cricket with a process-oriented mindset. He also made remarks on their shared philosophy and how, when they batted together, they used to take on responsibility.

“We both believe in the process and aren’t concerned about the outcome. The fact that DK (Dinesh Karthik) is instructing us is a huge blessing. I believe that Rajat and I are essential team members. We accept responsibility; whenever we bat, we declare that we are the only ones ahead of and behind us. We must assume full responsibility; if someone performs poorly, it is their fault. Jitesh said, “Only the two of us can assume the responsibility that most others are afraid to take on; we speak like that, fully 100%.”

Jitesh is currently playing for India at the 2025 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Jitesh scored for the Patidar-led team at 176.35.
