Injured Rishabh Pant back in India for rehab

After breaking his right foot in the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England in Manchester on July 23, India’s top batsman-wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has returned to his home country.

Rishabh Pant is now scheduled to start rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru after weeks of consultations in Mumbai and England. Given India’s hectic schedule, his recuperation will determine whether he can return quickly. The home series against the West Indies in October is thought to be his first potential comeback.

Rishabh Pant was hurt at Old Trafford after being struck in the foot by a delivery from Chris Woakes. The cricket player had to quit injured after hitting 37 at the moment. But he came back the following day with a 54 after a lot of strapping. India won the fifth Test at the Oval, tying the series, although he was unable to play due to the damage. Pant remained in England following the game before travelling to Mumbai to consult with medical professionals, who have since directed him to a Bengaluru rehabilitation program.

The foot of Rishabh Pant is still strapped.

The child’s foot is still bound, and although evaluations are still being conducted, physicians have provided a rough recovery timeframe, according to a Cricbuzz article. His initial goal is to be healthy enough to play in the October home red-ball series against the West Indies. He might return for the October–November white-ball series against Australia if it turns out to be too soon.

Through social media, Rishabh Pant has kept followers informed about his trip. Most recently, he shared an inspirational tweet about his mental toughness. The southpaw was sidelined for more than a year in 2022 after a near-fatal vehicle accident. Before returning to international cricket in 2024, he had to have major knee surgery and rehabilitation. In addition to his injury, he has experienced recurrent fitness issues and finger problems.
